Busy

On the way out the door to a meeting....
"Hey Sister Whitley, Let's show our Teach my Gospel books!"
Okay.  Have a nice day.

Happy Hermanas

This morning the Sisters were showing me that they have
matching earrings.

I have decided the ultimate in good companionships
comes when the sisters want to "match".
They are headed out to do service this morning (I think).
Have a great day!

A Very Nice Day

Hooray for Janice Kapp Perry.
Sister O was playing her music this morning
and in spite of the fact that Sister M told me she wasn't a singer....
both of the sisters were singing her songs.
My ears were very happy today!

You've Got Mail!

The Sisters were leaving the house on Saturday morning....
You would have thought they struck gold
at the mailbox! Sister M even got a
"message in a bottle."

They were full of energy and very enthusiastic.....
(are missionaries allowed to climb trees?)

I wish I'd taken a picture when they came home
on Saturday night at 9:00 p.m.......they were dead tired.
They said they had made 20 contacts,
and the majority were not interested in learning more.
Being a missionary is not an easy job...
but I'm very thankful for the missionaries that
knocked on my door in 1974 in answer to my prayer.
Their message changed my life forever.
I encouraged the Sisters to keep working hard.

Thursday is Planning Day

I walked in the door after work this afternoon to see two
Sisters at the kitchen table, their planning books opened
and with sheepish grins on their faces.....
"Sister Whitley, does it smell like anything burned?"
they asked.
Then they proceeded to tell me how they were trying to
cook some rice, but had a little problem.
Sister O says she has always used a rice cooker all of her life.
(Apparently she is the one who was cooking the rice.)
I turned on the attic fan to draw air in from outside....
it was a little chilly, so they are trying to stay warm while they plan.

It was a lot of fun hearing the story of how they burned the rice.

I wrote directions on how to cook rice.
I'm sure they will do it right the next time.

Today was P-Day

I came in from work and found Sister M cleaning
the pan she used to make her dinner.
Sister O was doing her laundry....
but I didn't get the camera quick enough
so I took this picture instead.
The Sisters posing as they are
walking out the door to another appointment...
"Goodbye Sister Whitley....please stop taking pictures!"

Please send mail.......
This is NOT a posed picture......
The Sisters check the mailbox EVERY time they go past it!
(I only saw them about 30 minutes today, so you know I am a paparazzi!)
