Missionaries / Weather / Talents / Fun

You might have noticed that I have not posted in a bit.
I went out of town for a week, but I have returned.
I took the above picture right before I left, meaning
to post a blog...but got too busy. Sorry.
This picture was taken on a lovely, warm, springlike day.
Our weather has been changing. The Hermanas were very
hopeful that it was spring....but alas, the weather has made
many flip-flops. They are both ready for the warm weather.
They keep asking me why it turned cold again.
I explain, "Unusual is usual for Texas."

I felt very welcomed and loved
when I saw this Welcome Home sign last night....

 Your daughters have many talents.
They stopped in to make their own dinner this afternoon.
Sister Oh! made them some homemade tortillas.
She is making this one for me. It was scrumptious!
Sister Oh! has come a long way since her burning-rice days.
Her future husband will be so glad she went on a mission.

Sister Maximum's talent is very unusual.
I am trying to decide how it will benefit her in the coming years.
After demonstrating this talent, we all laughed so hard we almost cried.

Her talent is being able to "cry like a baby."
Really.
She sounds just like a baby~~and it is SO funny!

The Sisters are working hard,
but they seem to be having a good time while doing so.

Another P Day

Sister Oh! was very happy about receiving her CTR ring from her mother!

And Sister Maximum was very happy about receiving
a valentine's day package from her mother!
They went to the George Bush Library today.
They rode the DART train there and back.
They got very cold,
but came in all smiles after their adventure.

This picture was taken last week after their meeting
on their "twin" day. At some point I walked through the house
and found this....
It looked like Sister Oh! was ironing Sister Max's back.
They are getting along very well, taking care of each other.

Sister Max was cold....that is why she was wearing the pink
sweatshirt. When she saw I was taking a picture she wanted
to take off her sweatshirt for a "proper" picture.

 So, here it is.
This picture is posed...but the other one was a natural.
The purple thing is a vibrating back massager that I
left sitting on the counter the night before.
They are working hard.
They come in every night tired to the bone.

Twins!

Sister Maximum looked in the closet.
She thought....Is that my shirt?
She looked in her drawer.....
She found her shirt.
That was Sister Oh's shirt in the closet!

 They discovered that they....are twins!
They already had skirts practically the same, too.
They went to their meeting this morning dressed alike.
They report that it took them an hour to get to their meeting
in Irving this morning. They left at 8:30 a.m. and didn't
arrive until 9:30.  They are home now and busy planning
for the week.

I asked them if they had traced the genealogy of their
family and in-laws to see if they are also related.....
as were other sisters living here in 2013.
Maybe they will do that next P-day.

Enthusiasm

The Hermanas have been very enthusiastic about meeting their goals.
On the way out the door tonight I ran after...
then ahead...of them saying, "do something."
 They pointed ahead saying,
"Title this one--Sisters Baptize Thousands!"

They are a very enthusiastic companionship.
Although I doubt they, themselves will baptize anyone on their mission,
every day brings new and interesting teaching appointments.
I am sure that thousands of lives will be changed for the better
because of the message they are delivering.

Peace~~ Love~~Joy~~Happy!

"TWELVE CALLS LATER
and we finally got someone to go with us!"
I came home just now and found the Sisters sitting
at the table calling everyone in their ward.
They needed a member to go with them to an appointment.
Finally, a single mom with four children was the one who
said yes. I heard them clapping their hands and yelling
YEA.....so I decided it was blog worthy.

Sister Oh! says:  "The moral of this story is...go out with your missionaries."

I asked them~~ "So what do your fingers up stand for?"
They said, "Peace~~Love~~Joy~~Happy!!"
I said, "Okay, that's the title of the next blog post."

Up and Away

The Hermanas were headed out the door this
morning going to a meeting or something.
I grabbed the camera for a quick picture.

I saw letters affixed to the mail box as I followed them out the door.
This is the evidence that yesterday was P day,

It is very cold this morning....but they were bundled up tight.
Sister Oh! and Sister Maximum have several new people that they are
excited about teaching.  They are working hard.

The Crazy Revolving Door.....

The missionaries often say the missionary that trains is the mother
and that the one being trained is the child

You can see that she was a very good trainer
and a very good mother....

More than anything,
I know Sister Red Baron has a testimony of the
truthfulness of the gospel.

It was a pleasure to have her here.
I will miss her: "I have a question....",
 her spider-watching,
her love of freshly baked rolls,
and the way she saved the day with her tools!

I will miss those bouncy curls and her great big smile.

Good bye Sister Red Baron!
Soon you will be going home....Don't forget to write,
and you are always welcome to come back
to your home-away-from-home for a visit.

Does anyone hear a funny swishing noise??
It is the revolving door changing directions!!!

Believe it or not.....
the door is sucking people back in the opposite direction.
One of the Singing Angels has returned!!
(Stranger things happen only in the twilight zone.)

Was our house bugged?
Did the mission president hear how many times she said,
"I could just spend my whole mission right here." ?
I am so happy to have Sister O and her
chocolate chip pancakes back.
Welcome Home!!

I think I will nickname her Sister Oh!
The new companionship is getting settled in today.

Putting your picture on the "family wall" must be
what reversed the suction on the revolving door.
