Happy Easter 2013

The atonement of the Savior makes it possible for us to return
to the presence of God. Following the example He set for us
makes this life peaceful and happy. I am thankful for the Savior, Jesus Christ.
I am glad to have these cheery Sisters living in our home.
Happy Easter

The Sweet Sisters

Winding down their final week together are
The Sweet Sisters.....O~O~W.
(They are making a heart with their arms.)
They sang for me again today and it was very beautiful.
They made a goal to sing all of the songs in the hymn book that they know.
They have 13 hymns to go before they are finished.
What an accomplishment!

Road Work / Missionary Work

It has been a little difficult living at our house this past week.
This picture was taken by standing on our front porch looking at the street.

This picture was taken standing across the street, looking at our house.
We live in an older neighborhood and all of the sewer and water lines
are being replaced. The workers are very nice and they are trying not
to make a big mess, and it worked for a few days, but then it rained.....

It impacted the work just a little!

Sister W was being a good sport....
trying to wipe mud off of Sister O's shoe (from Cal)!

Sister O was frustrated because she tossed some keys across the street
...... and they didn't make it.
Luckily everything dried up today and things are semi normal.....
Opposition in all things ..... but the Sisters have another baptism coming up!

Conference Today

The Sisters attended a big area conference today.
All of the Spanish missionaries attended.
They sang, God Be with You Till We Meet Again,
to the departing missionaries,
and then the departing missionaries bore
their testimonies to the group.

Our beloved Sister M gave this lovely Hawaiian Lei
to Sister O (her trainer).....
who now has less than 2 weeks until she leaves the mission.

I am going to miss Sister O (from Utah).
It has been a real joy to have her in our home for 7 months.
She is respectful, friendly, tidy, and and fun to be around.
I will never forget her escapades with keys and cameras....
But more than that, I will always remember
the love she has shown for the Savior, her desire to always
do the right thing, and her special way of reaching out to others.

Baptismal Excitement

The Sisters came in last night very excited because one of their investigators decided to be baptized!  They were so giddy that I had to capture the moment.

Angel Singers and A Test

The Sisters have been doing amazing things.
I keep telling people, "These missionaries are breaking all the records!"
I am not positive they are actually breaking records,
but they are reaching for the stars....
they are working hard to teach lessons and baptize those they teach.
It seems like very day I hear them talking about new investigators and
upcoming baptisms. They have been responsible for a lot of marriages, too.

One morning I was getting ready for work and I heard something.
It was very faint, but very beautiful.
Upon investigation, I realized it was coming from the Sister's bedroom.

I listened outside the door and it sounded like angels!
I quietly turned the doorknob (as not to disturb their music)
and cracked the door open.... so I could hear them better.

I startled them, and they quit singing.
I apologized and they were so sweet about it.
They came out into the living room and gave me my own personalized
Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert before I left for work.

All three of these Hermanas have beautiful voices.
They go together like girl scout cookies and milk!
The Spirit is so strong when they sing.

 This is a test.
Which set of feet belong to YOUR missionary?
(They were singing a hymn in the living room to practice for a baptism.)

Which Sister is assembling this for an investigator?

True or False
Did the Sisters eat a communal bowl of cereal for breakfast?
(I found this in the sink when I got up one morning.)

Sister Surprises

Sorry for the delayed post. I've had company.
Our newest sister (until today) was Sister O, from California.
She arrived on Feb. 19. She has been out about 5 months.
She is the oldest of 8 children and is now paired up
with the oldest of 7 children.
(I have a thing about observing characteristics of birth order)
I'm sure the "O Sisters" will be a dynamic duo.
Sister O (from California) knows how to play the piano very well,
which, of course, makes me very happy.
I took this picture because Sis. O (from Washington) got this new scarf and
she looked so pretty with it on. In addition to being a powerful missionary, she knows exactly how to tie scarves,
and she has quite a few of them. She is very stylish.

One Sunday afternoon there was a baptism and
low and behold, I was so surprised to see Sister M
come walking in through the front door and standing right there there in our living room!!! She had come to attend the baptism, but for me,
it was like a 10 minute missionary reunion!
She wasn't here long, but it was long enough for a hug....

Sister O (the new one) has taken to
snacking on spoonfulls of peanut butter.
She says she didn't ever eat it like this at home,
but says that surprisingly,
it is pretty tasty this way....

Our final surprise is that today we got
a brand new sister!
We now have our 3rd trio.
She is Sister W, originally from Germany,
but says she has lived in Utah for the past 3 years.
This is her very first area. She said she has been on her mission
for 13 days! I can't wait to get to know her better.
We have an international missionary house here.
Since August we have had missionaries from Tonga, Mexico, and now Germany. We are getting a world-wide education housing these missionaries!
