Status Report--Hermana Maximum

After a trip to the ER on Monday,
and a full day of rest on Tuesday,
the Hermanas worked and had a good day today.
When they came home tonight I asked them what they did.....
They said they planned, they ate, and they taught.
I asked Sister ReeKay how Sister Maximum seemed to her
and what she was like today.
She told me Sister Maximum seemed better.
She said she was smiling, eating, and singing in the car.
Good sign.
I asked Sister Maximum how she felt....
She said she felt better, but was still having a little trouble breathing.
Being the super sleuth that I am,
I keep trying to figure out why she has not felt well.
All of a sudden it came to me tonight.
When she first came, she told me she was allergic to cats.
She stays away from the cat and never complains about anything.
But it is spring. Cats shed in the spring.  Belle is shedding.
More allergens.
One of our grandsons has asthma and he has trouble breathing
when they come to our house on vacation.
While he is here he has to take special allergy medications.
Maybe our house is making Sister Maximum sick.
Oh my!
She said she will talk to President about that tomorrow
at their regular meeting.
Don't worry mom, I think she is okay.

Surprise Visitors

I was surprised to hear the doorbell ring at 8:45 this morning.
I peeped out the door and who did I see?
Sister Padlock!!!

Somehow they had a meeting somewhere and
then they needed to go somewhere else....
(they told me these details, but I can't remember exactly)
Our house was kind of half way from here to there....
so they got special permission to drop by!
I just love it when the past Hermanas come "home."
It is a special treat for me.

I wasn't expecting them, so I wasn't quite ready for work.
They did their study-time at our house while I got ready.

This is Sister Padlock's latest companion.
This companion was companions with Sister M from Hawaii.
I do so miss Sister M from Hawaii.
She is gone now, but if she ever reads this blog
I hope she will make a comment.

Sister padlock wanted to take a picture together.
We took a silly picture, too...
but I'm not posting it.
We discovered we were kind of matching with our
black and white dots.

I could barely stand for them to leave.
Sister Padlock has also graduated to driver status!
She says she is having a wonderful mission.
I knew she would.

Here is a picture of the car she is driving now.

Goodbye Sister Padlock.
You are one special Hermana!!

Our Newest Hermana

I want to introduce you to our newest Hermana.
She has lived here for one whole week now.
I am going to nickname her Sister ReeKay because
I don't use the missionaries regular names on my blog.
She is so beautiful. She was born in Mexico.
Her family moved to the States when she was young.
Sister ReeKay is a middle child--but an oldest girl.
At home, she has two pet dogs.
But at our house,
she will live with a cat named Jingle-Belle.
Belle, for short.

 Sister Maximum and Sister ReeKay
have been spending so much time together
working and getting to know each other
that it seems I have barely seen them.
Although I have to admit that
I have also been very busy this week.

Sister Maximum has graduated to being the driver now.
The Hermanas said that today they were very busy.
They had a district meeting,
then they went to lunch as a district.
They did their regular weekly service....
(they organized cans of food).
They taught a lesson with a member present....
then they knocked on some doors.
They had dinner with some members....
then they knocked on some more doors.
One scheduled lesson fell through...
then they taught another lesson.

Hermana ReeKay told me she loves the Savior.
She is happy to be on her mission.
The Hermanas worked all day on Easter Sunday.
They pit-stopped at our house for a quick Easter dinner,
then it was back to doing their missionary work.

You can see that they have had a very
busy schedule.

 Yesterday was P-day.
They cleaned, they washed, then they were gone
until just before they went back to work in the evening.
I have not seen enough of Sister ReeKay
to know her very well yet.

But one thing I do know about her
is that she likes mail, too.
Here is proof that yesterday was P-day.
Every Tuesday we always have mail-to-go
attached to our mailbox.
I think LDS missionaries are what keeps
the US postal service in business!

The Revolving Door in Motion....

The Hermana's rewarded themselves with
a Braum's ice cream cone
in the final hours of the final night of Sister Oh's mission.
(after their last teaching appointment).
Yum......

Then they did something that was against my better judgment.
They decided to spend the night outside on our trampoline.
I asked them, "Isn't this against the rules?"
"There is no rule against it," they replied.
Hmmmm....well, I decided to
sleep in the living room and listen for them.
It was supposed to get to freezing that night -- but they didn't care.
They wanted to see the lunar eclipse,
and Sister Oh! had been talking about this the whole
time she lived at our house.

 Sister Oh! was very efficient.
She is the only Hermana that did not have to stay up
all night long packing.

Here they are all bundled up for their night outside.

They even took their little alarm clock with them so they would wake up
bright and early.

I went outside at 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. to check on them.
We left the door unlocked so they could come inside if they wanted to.
They came inside at 5:30 a.m.
They were up and out the door at the appointed time the next morning.

It was sad seeing Hermana Oh leaving the house.

I will miss her enthusiasm and bubbly personality.
I can't believe she was here for 9 months!
Time is speeding up, for sure....

One last picture for the road!
Farewell and Good Luck
You were a hard working, excellent missionary!
Please come back any time.
You are always welcome....
You're picture is still on the "family wall!"

Countdown is On

I am going to miss this face.
Sister Oh! has blessed our days for 9 months this year.
She is so pretty inside and out!

The Sisters were walking out the door
at 9:30 this morning to knock on doors.
I said, "Let me take your picture, I'm going to miss you!"
"Awww, Sister Whitley...." she said.
They have been out of the house so much this week
that some days I have not seen them at all.

Who wouldn't open the door to hear a message
from these lovely ladies?

70 Hour Work Week

The Sisters have it all figured out how getting up earlier and
working later will give them a 70 hour work week.

Sister Oh! is going out with a blast!

General Conference Comment

The Hermanas say:
"Conference on your mission is like Christmas morning!"
