Missionaries at the Nativity

Sister O and Sister M with a family they have been teaching.
For the past eight years our stake has given a gift to the community.
The gift is a Nativity Exhibit. The whole stake bring our nativity sets together (around 800 in all) and it makes a wonderful display.
There is beautiful music, choirs and even art work, too.

After the family left, I took a few more pictures....
These pictures were taken the same day as the pictures
in the post below. That's why they are wearing the same clothes.

I am posting some pictures of the nativities
so you can see how beautiful everything is.
The nativities are almost as pretty as these missionaries.

The whole time I was taking the Sister's
picture, Sis M was saying, "I want you in the picture, too."
So, here you go!

A Regular Work Day For the Sisters

Sister M is trying to figure out something on the "new phone."
 Sister O, ready to go!
Now Sister O is working on the same thing as Sister M,
readjusting some phone numbers or something.
They say,
"We're ready to go to our appointment...."
I snap pictures as fast as I can.

These are such hard working young ladies...
Last night they took someone to the
Carrollton Community Nativity Celebration.
http://thecommunitynativity.com/
They introduced me to the investigator.
This morning they told me it was a neighbor across the street!
How wonderful. I had smiled and waved at him in the past,
but did not recognize him in an out-of-place location.
Something new---
Instead of back packs, now the Sisters are asked
to carry bags. They say that it makes them look
"more professional."

There they go...
It is 10 a.m.

Thanksgiving in Texas 2012

The Sisters got up bright and early (as usual).
They baked cupcakes to take to their investigators.

Sister M had been waiting to open this surprise
from her sister back home.

This is her happy expression upon unveiling
such a special Thanksgiving card!

I think they made 3 plates of cupcakes to take
to three different groups of people.
They looked yummy!
Then they spent some time studying at the kitchen table.

Sister O is trying to take a picture of one of the scriptures
she had prepared to include with her cupcake treats....

I thought it seemed like a good idea to include it
for the blog.

 They are such wonderful missionaries.
I love having them in my home.
Sister O is doing a great job of training Sister M.

Here they are heading out to do their work for the day.
They are laughing because they think I am so funny
trying to capture them in action, walking out the door!

And they thought it was even funnier when I wanted still yet
another picture for the blog...I told them, "Put the cupcakes
on the table and just pose for one more picture"...

 Sister O is being silly...
but I don't remember what she was saying or doing.

Then I followed them to the car.
I told them, "I want to get your car in the picture!"
That is our house in the background.
The Sisters were gone for several hours.
They had a big day today because they ate not one....
not two..... but THREE Thanksgiving dinners!!
(so you don't have to worry about them going hungry)
It was a beautiful, sunny day.
I think the temp was close to 80 degrees.

Dinner with us was their 2nd dinner.
They cleaned their plates!

Oh, and in case you are interested....
this is a picture of me...
the maker of this blog.
I hope you enjoy seeing pictures of your
daughters. They are choice women, and like I said...
I love having them in our home!

Hermana's in the House!

Sister M and Sister O are with us now.
Sister M is from Hawaii.
She is a brand new missionary....This is her first area.
Sister O is from Washington. She is training Sister M.
This picture was taken one Sunday night as they
made a quick pit stop for dinner.
We are enjoying having both of them in our home.
They are always busy, rising early, working hard,
and dropping into bed each night.

This week on P-Day Sister O was playing a game of
soccer. She said she was running hard, getting
some great exercise. It seems there was a little collision with
one of the Elders while she was running, and this is the result.
At first she didn't realize how bad it was,
but by Monday night this is how it looked.

This picture was taken yesterday.
She says it hurts, but not as bad as it looks.
Poor Sister O!
