Life of a Missionary

After Sister Maximum drank as much coconut milk as possible from the straw,
they left the coconut to drain into a glass on the top of the counter for a time.
Of course, I had a brainstorm after the Sisters went to bed.....

 Meet our newest missionary.....

 Hermana Coconut.
She is a distant cousin of Hermana Pineapple.
Poor Hermana Coconut did not live very long.

She met with a sad demise.

On Saturday night after the Hermanas came home from their work....
they decided to break her head open
so she could be used for medicinal purposes.
First they tried banging her head with a hammer.
Both of the Sisters took some whacks at her.
When that didn't work, they brought out another tool....

The Sisters were high with nervous energy
because they were anticipating
a call from the mission office about transfers....

Sister Red Baron was now using the chisel...
(she's the one that is good with tools, remember?)
Sister Maximum tried hitting the chisel with the hammer.
That didn't work....

After whacking quite a few times,
Brother W stepped in to give some well needed advise.
Finally Hermana Coconut was split open.

There was a lot of cheering and laughter about getting the job done...

Soon a cure would be available...
(freshly shredded coconut... good for what ails you...
 was right around the corner)

SUCCESS!!!

In giddy anticipation of the cure....

After a quick little taste Sister Maximum emphatically states....
"I don't think I like coconut!"

They still have to figure out how to shred it!

As the Sisters contemplated how to shred the coconut....
Their cell phone rang.  "Oh no, they said....
Now we will know who will be transferred and who will stay here..."
They gave a spontaneous hug.

(I love watching each new companionship grow in their relationship
as time goes on...from strangers, to friends who hate parting.)

It was Elder "Brass Knuckles" calling with the big news.
The Hermanas will tell you in your email who is going and who is staying.

I love having your missionaries here. I really do.
I am always a little sad when the revolving door begins to turn....
but I feel blessed to know each of them and be a small part of their lives
while they are serving the Lord. I hope I will see them again.
