Sisters on the way out the door this morning at 10:45 a.m.
The weather was not too severe here night before last, even though there was bad
weather all around us. We had lots of lightning and did get 2" of rain, but thankfully no hail and no
tornado. When the Sisters first came to our house I told them that Texas
weather was nothing to mess with. I explained that if they were ever here
and it looked green or dark (you can see it coming) that they should not be out
and about....that if they were outside, they should get to a house or come home.
I explained that an inside bathroom was the best place to be (no one around here
has basements). I even showed them a short video clip that someone had taken
nearby last year when it hailed. They were shocked that the hail could
be so violent.
So, the other night when it stormed outside, they were safe and sound in the house.
They had gotten a text telling them to go home and they followed the rules right
away. In fact, they said they were knocking on doors right before they got the
text from the mission home and a few of the people told them the weather was bad
and they should go home. I thought that was funny.
We have weathered lots of hail and tornadoes here. I assured the Sisters that
as long as they were following the rules that the Lord would protect them
because they were doing His work. It always amazes me because even in the most
horrible tornadoes the people who are sheltering in the bathrooms are almost
always untouched.
I should have posted something on the blog saying they were safe. I will keep
that in mind the next time....and there is
always a
next time in Texas!
Thanks so much for update! Glad to hear everyone is safe and sound and you are giving them good advice so that they can stay safe.
